Annual benefit statements

Publication date: 23/09/2020 15:16:02

Annual benefit statements 2020 are now available online - make sure you tell your employees!

As part of our requirements under the LGPS regulations, we release benefit statements to our members by 31st August each year. Annual benefit statements were made available by the deadline through the 'My Pension Online' system. All members who have a registered email address with the fund have received an email letting them know their statement is available.

Members will be able to see their total benefits worked out up to the 31st March 2020 and an estimate of their pension to their normal pension age. Data and information that you have provided has been used in these calculations. Therefore, any pay queries from members will be directed back to you. The pensions team will answer any queries about how their statement has been calculated.

We'd be grateful if you could help us with our communications by posting the following on your intranet site or by letting your staff know using your normal updates.

Please use the text:

"Are you currently paying in to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)? If so, log in to ‘My Pension Online’ to see your 2020 annual benefit statement today!

Your statement is an estimate of your LGPS benefits based on your pay and employment information up to 31 March 2020.

In the annual benefit statements area of the Schropshire County Pension Fund website, you’ll find some guidance notes which can help you understand your statement. These can also be found in ‘documents’ within the 'My Pension Online' area.

Don't forget to read the latest newsletter too!

Not registered? Follow the instructions on 'My Pension Online'. You'll need your email address and National Insurance number.

Already registered? Please remember your username is not your email address but a unique name you would have created to register. If you've forgotten your username, click the 'Forgotten your username?' link.

If you have asked for a paper copy of your statement, these have been posted. If you would like to receive a paper copy in the future, please write to the pensions team at the Shirehall, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ND or email pensions@shropshire.gov.uk."
