On this page we will provide details of all upcoming employer meetings and information about previous meetings.
Employers' Meeting 2025
The meeting featured an insightful presentation from our actuary, Mercer, on the 2025 actuarial valuation.
If you were unable to attend the meeting, you can now access the recording of the session and presentation slides from our pension administration manager and Mercer.

Employers' Meeting 2024
On Thursday 14 November, we held our 2024 Employers' Meeting. This year’s meeting was presented by representatives from our actuary, Mercer, who provided information to employers on important topics such as the valuation and accounting.
The 2024 meeting was separated into two sessions, which allowed us to provide tailored information to both scheme employers and academies.

Employers' Meeting 2021
The meeting featured a presentation from our actuary, Mercer, on the initial thoughts on the upcoming 2022 actuarial valuation – this is the exercise which sets your employer contribution rate for the next three years. The actuary covered:
- The background to the valuation (what it is and why we do it)
- The outlook for future employer contributions in general terms, including commentary on impact of key events e.g. Covid-19 and McCloud
- Overview of process/timings

Employers' Meeting 2018
Our employers meeting last year took place on 11 October at the Shirehall, Shrewsbury.
The meeting was aimed at finance, HR, and payroll staff dealing with LGPS issues. Presentations during the day covered a review of the last year, employer role and responsibilities, iConnect developments and the role of The Pensions Regulator.

Our employers meeting in 2017 was held on Monday 9th October at the Shirehall, Shrewsbury. The meeting was aimed at finance, HR, and payroll staff dealing with LGPS issues.

Employers' Meeting 2016
2016 was valuation year. The valuation process sets the employer contribution rates to be in place from 1 April 2017 until 31 March 2020.
10th November 2016- valuation results
To help employers understand how the actuary sets contribution rates and the assumptions that are used in the calculations, all employers were invited to an employers meeting for an update from the scheme actuary.
