The LGPS is a nationwide scheme and is a valuable part of the employment package for employees working in local government or working for other employers participating in the Scheme and for some councillors. The LGPS in England and Wales changed on the 1 April 2014, it is now a career average scheme for benefits built up from 1 April 2014. This website will provide information on the scheme in place from 1 April 2014 and the scheme rules for members in before this date.

Whether you are an existing active member of the scheme or are a retired member receiving your pension or if you are a deferred member and have not yet started to receive your pension all you need to know can be found on this website.
