Shropshire County Pension Fund are committed to keeping our members pension account's safe. To help achieve this we will soon be introducing SMS (text message) verification to the My Pension Online portal.
This additional level of security will send a unique one-time passcode to the members mobile phone by text message each time they log in. This will replace the one-time passcode traditionally sent to their email address, making logging in to their account faster and more secure.
SMS verification will be introduced for all My Pension Online users, both new and existing. Setting up SMS verification will be quick, and only needs to be done once.
We will be communicating these changes to all of our members, but please share this information with your employees.
It is extremely important that all members of the Fund create and access their My Pension Online account. This enables them to keep contact with their pension throughout their life, including any career changes or unexpected events.
Please encourage your employees to access My Pension Online. Emphasise the importance of this platform, and direct them to resources such as our 'Contributing Members' webpage and our My Pension Online guide, which they can use to help set up their account.
