A number of our handy information guides have been updated to reflect the new early retirement factors that are applicable from August 2026.
Members of the LGPS can retire anytime from the age of 55 (rising to 57 in 2028) to 75, but reductions will be applied for early retirement. Early retirement is classed as retiring between the ages of 55 and your NPA (Normal Pension Age).
Early retirement factors provide you with the percentage reduction amounts for retiring up to 13 years early. Read our guides to learn more about retirement factors and the retirement process.
