Pension Awareness week 31st October to 4th November

Publication date: 27/10/2022 17:02:14

The past year we at Shropshire County Pension Fund have seen an enormous increase in engagement from our active members on our online portal and through calls and emails to our helpdesk. It’s becoming obvious that people want to be more financially aware and are paying more attention to their savings and future retirement. Knowing where your money is going, keeping a track on your pension and preparing for the future is important.

The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) and Association of British Insurers (ABI) will be running a three year campaign to make pensions a talking point and encourage people to appreciate the value of pensions. Starting next week on 31st October until 4th November, the Pension Geeks, a team of pension experts, will turn complex and complicated topics into digestible and non-scary issues.

Pension Awareness week will take the form of live TV shows, tackling the biggest pension questions, such as Pension 101, combining pots and the State Pension. There will also be lively Q&As, handy videos, articles and helpful resources to give you the tools you need to grow your pension your way.

As well as teaching you to be more pension-savvy, the campaign will be about mindful money, budgeting hacks and overall financial wellbeing.
